Siliguri Branch of EIRC

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

(A Statutory body established under an act of Parliament)

Greetings from the desk of the Chairman.

I wish all the members and students a lovely year ahead.

First and foremost, I would like to thank The Almighty for his divine blessings. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading the Siliguri Branch of EIRC of ICAI.The support and efforts of every member and student of the Siliguri Branch has given this branch a place of recognition in ICAI.

As the tradition follows, this year also the Siliguri Branch of EIRC of ICAI has won the awards for the Best Branch (members) in the medium category and the Second Best Branch (students’ association) in the small category at the National level. We were also conferred as the Best Branch in the large and medium category for members as well as students at the regional level. It is the dedicated teamwork and coordination of the management committee, the guidance of the past chairpersons, the support of every member, the determined efforts of every student and the hard work of the support staff of the branch which has given us these accords for excellence.

My term as the treasurer and then the vice chairman of the Siliguri Branch was an excellent experience. I got utmost support and guidance from everyone and I am sure it would continue to be the same this year as well. Apart from the various activities, seminars, workshops, certificate courses and other events which we regularly organize; this year we plan to hold seminars with different associations of North Bengal to spread awareness about the provisions of direct and indirect taxes.

A seminar on “Swift Transactions “was organized on 8th of March.

International Women’s Day was celebrated with a seminar on “Women’s Empowerment” on 10th of March.

We will be organizing a seminar on “Bank Audits” on 25th of March.

Leading the branch is an opportunity which is accompanied with a lot of responsibilities .This is added with the expectation to perform well. But I strongly believe that it is not I or YOU; it is WE who can and will do it.
